Ling Chung (she/her)
Board Member
Ling Chung is a Strategy & Planning leader for Uber’s US & Canada Grocery & Retail division, based in the Greater Toronto Area. Since June 2022, she has focused on strategy and governance to guide Uber’s expansion into new verticals. Prior to Uber, Ling held senior roles at Unilever, Energizer, and Pepsi, where she built expertise in business operations, product marketing, go-to-market strategy, and new business integration – including successfully integrating startup acquisitions into Unilever’s portfolio. Across these roles, she has led large-scale partnerships, product launches, and process improvements in complex B2B2C environments.
Beyond her corporate career, Ling has devoted significant time to nonprofit leadership. For seven years, she served on the board of FoodShare, one of Canada’s most recognized food security organizations. Earlier, as president of a youth-driven nonprofit, she scaled the organization from 20 to 200 members over the course of a decade, strengthening its sustainability and expanding its community impact. These experiences have shaped her belief in the importance of capacity-building and systems-level solutions to complex social challenges.
Ling’s decision to join The Reading Partnership board is driven by her conviction that childhood literacy is foundational to tackling broader systemic issues. She believes poverty cannot be addressed without tackling employment; employment cannot be solved without education; education cannot be transformed without supporting families; and families cannot fully invest in their children without the right resources at home. For her, childhood literacy is a deep lever in the social value chain – an early intervention with the power to ripple outward and transform issues of equity and opportunity.
Through her board role, Ling is committed to advancing The Reading Partnership’s mission, strengthening family supports, and ensuring every child has the tools to succeed.
