Carl Brundtland (he/him)

Board Member

Carl has been working in the cultural industries since 1993. His first job in the television industry, working as a jack of all trades, was in Jamaica at CPTC (a production company that would be the Jamaican equivalent of CBC). Since that early start, he has worked as a technician on big Hollywood films, an assistant for award-winning film producers, and as the owner and operator of his own production company, a producer of over 20 music videos. Working for various producers on Canadian indie films and TV, Carl decided it was time to get a backup plan and ventured into law school. After graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007, Carl worked for the Canadian Radio/Television Telecommunications Commission (the CRTC), his own law firm, and for over fifteen years at Nelvana and Kids Can Press (both Corus Entertainment companies). His current role of VP Legal and Business Affairs at 9 Story Media Group has Carl providing legal advice for animation and live action productions, as well as general business needs.

In addition to providing business and legal advice, Carl is a published Author of the Nansi graphic novel series. The first installment, Way off Track, was released in Spring 2025 to wide acclaim. When he isn’t writing or lawyering, Carl enjoys spending time with his family and exploring culinary artistry.
